Annie Cheng
Producer | Writer | Artist Hello, I am a game designer, writer, and artist. I started developing ideas for games in my freshman year of college and haven’t stopped since. I am extremely passionate about storytelling and creating tone. This is prevalent in all my games and especially in Forested. Forested is an attempt at telling a story through art and tone exclusively. With minimal help from dialog, it is up to the player to interpret the story. Project Manager | Programmer Hello, I am a game programmer and artist. I began working with games 5 years ago while finishing up my military service in Managua, Nicaragua. I have a passion for astronomy and space flight and this provided a subject for me to focus many of my early projects around. Working on Forested provided a nice break from my usual subject material and allowed me to experiment with many different methods for rendering more fanciful graphics. Composer Hi, I've been writing music for around 5 years. I composed the music from Forested by mentally placing myself in the area that I was attempting to emulate. Forested is split up into various biomes that each have their own theme, but still remain firmly within the overall world. My goals for the music were to really create a continuous feel to the game to tie the areas together and make everything feel complete. Concept Artist | 2D Assets I am a Boston-based artist with a passion for dogs, ice cream, and video games. I am constantly inspired by my surroundings and have a strong passion for storytelling, whether it be through art, film, or music. I primarily focus on 2D art design and am transitioning into 3D modeling/design. I have a strong interest in science fiction and fantasy, and during this project, I was able to use my skills to help portray the curious tale that is Forested. Lead Developer | Trailer Designer I've been learning how to make video games since I was in middle school, and this will be my third professionally released title. My primary focus is on programming, so when I heard the original concept for Forested, I decided to jump on board as lead developer. The experience in working on Forested has helped me grow as a developer and better myself in working in a studio environment. Level Designer Hiya. I’ve been a game design student for the last few years, and I’m pleased to say that Forested has been the first video game I’ve ever worked on. Building levels and puzzles had easy and difficult moments, but I’m thrilled with how the work turned out and to see something I made put into an actual project. This has been one of the best learning experiences I’ve had as a Northeastern student, and I’m proud of the way the game has turned out, and to have been part of the team.
